What do you find most rewarding about your role at MML?

Playing a part in and watching founder-managers realise the maximum possible with their businesses. It is incredibly rewarding to be a part of step-changing a business – be that via strategic evolution, entering new markets, or M&A – and the highs (as well as any bumps in the road) help to foster relationships that I have no doubt will last a long time.

What do you believe is your most important role as an investor?

I think it is knowing where we can and cannot add value. Our style of investing is all about backing managers we believe in and who are proven at what they do. Whilst we can really help when it comes to things like key hiring, M&A and board level strategic discussion, we leave the day-to-day to the exceptional people we back (whilst always being available if needed!).

What does life look like when you leave the office?

Watching my beloved Chelsea FC, playing golf (badly) and spending time with friends and family.

“Will has been phenomenal for Roboyo. He managed the execution of two transformational acquisitions for us at the same time, which was not easy as they were both international and for many it was their first transaction. He was able to bring everyone along the journey with him to deliver a fantastic outcome for us.”
Nicolas Hess, CEO, Roboyo
