Sean earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with dual concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. After graduating, he began his career in investment banking with Solomon Partners before moving into private equity with Mill Road Capital, a mid-market private equity firm founded by former Blackstone professionals. After ten years with Mill Road Capital, Sean joined MML.

What do you think makes MML stand out?

The flexibility of our approach. MML’s ability to tailor our investments and structure to fit a company’s needs is differentiated in mid-market private equity and allows us to truly partner with management teams. Every company is different and faces its own set of unique opportunities and challenges, so our approach is designed to help companies reach their full potential across a wide range of situations.

Is there a deal that stands out in your mind as your proudest investment?

This is a difficult question because I’m proud of many of my deals and most importantly the relationships and friendships I developed with the management teams along the way. My proudest investment was a business that was responsible for driving forest sustainability and replenishment in North America. We were responsible for planting over 1.1 billion trees over the course of our ownership.

Name five things you could not live without.

My wife, my dog, my family, my friends, and the beach!
