What most attracted you to joining the MML team?

I had the pleasure of working alongside Rich, Rob and Amar on the Waystone sale process whilst I was at Baird, and I was immediately drawn not only to their intelligence and professionalism, but also their high personability. Having now had the benefit of working with the rest of the MML team as a colleague, I can safely say everyone shares that same personable attribute, which has created an excellent working environment and team culture.

How did your career path bring you to private equity?

Having always had a natural bias towards number-oriented tasks (hence the mathematics degree at university!), working in finance was the only ever career option for me. However, after doing several different internships across the finance industry and then starting my career in M&A advisory, I found what I enjoyed the most was meeting different entrepreneurs and management teams, getting under the skin of their business models, and helping them develop strategies that drive value, which made private equity the perfect home!

Name five things you couldn’t live without.

  1. Family and friends
  2. My morning coffee
  3. Golf
  4. The U.S. Office
  5. A cold beer on a Friday night!
