Christian graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Honours degree in Economics and Politics, after which he began his career at Barclays where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined EY in their financial services strategy and transactions team where he spent five years, including a year on secondment in the New York office, before joining MML in London.

What do you think makes MML stand out?

The people. Everyone is down to earth and there are no big egos – it is a flat structure and a unique team environment for a private equity house. I think this comes across when talking to the management teams we partner with who value that humility and team culture.

When did you first think about working in private equity?

In my previous role at EY I had worked with a variety of private equity clients. I was always interested in the thought process and strategy behind the opportunities they were looking at. This, coupled with the chance to work closely with founders and management teams, fuelled my desire to work in private equity.

What does life look like when you leave the office?

I am a huge sports fan - on the weekend I am either on the golf course, out riding my bike or watching my beloved Queens Park Rangers!
