What most attracted you to joining the MML team?
The chance to work closely with ambitious entrepreneurs and management teams, backed by MML's strong partnership ethos and track record in the mid-market, really appealed to me.
The Keystone strategy was also a key attraction: we invest in businesses with strong downside protection and a privileged growth position, which is a unique combination.
What do you most enjoy about being an investor?
Helping the businesses we invest in grow and make an impact on the wider industries they operate in. I also enjoy the challenge of developing investment theses and building conviction through getting to know each business in depth.
After seeing so many businesses across various sectors and geographies, you also start to look at the companies you come across in everyday life through a different lens, which I find fascinating.
What has been your greatest life adventure?
My wife and I visited 10 countries across Asia and the Middle East. We planned the route as we went, working around flight connections, costs and the weather (it was monsoon season in several parts of Asia). Despite our best efforts, we still ended up in Japan during a typhoon warning!
