The difference we can make, from a parent supported by Little Village:

“I fled DA [domestic abuse] and had the baby at a refuge. I was not able to think about the baby as I had two other children. The parcel for my baby was really appreciated and made me smile, which I had not been able to do for a while. I felt as though someone cared and this made me hopeful and feel empowered.”

We spent the day at Little Village’s Wandsworth warehouse checking and sorting donations to ensure items were in a suitable condition to be gifted to families. This included checking items met quality standards (would you gift them to a friend), sorting clothes and shoes by size, gender and type, and building cots. We thoroughly enjoyed helping support such a worthy cause.

With one third of London’s children living in poverty, many families are facing impossible choices between eating, heating and warm clothes. Many children are going without beds, blankets, warm clothes, books and toys. Each Bundle is carefully tailored to the needs of each child, and this year includes a supermarket voucher as well so parents can choose something extra, such as food or a gift.
